It is my sister's birthday next week & I looked at preordering Taylor's album for her as her gift (if I didn't finish what I was making her in time, but I did), but all the deluxe versions confuse me . I backed away slowly & decided to save it for her Christmas present instead

Is the only difference between the 'deluxe' & 'standard' the special inclusions? Then each 'deluxe' has different bonus content?

I know it sounds crazy, but its actually quite logical. She has additional needs, doesn't have a job, or understand money properly so isn't allowed much to spend as otherwise I imagine she could easily empty her bank account without understanding what she's done . She'd have to ask our parents for it or me or she'll just presume I'll get it for her . Plus I'll see her next month & probably ask her then if she wants it for Christmas


I will say this boxset looks cool. A lot of money, but still cool. Taylor's been pretty good with the fun stuff you get with the album for a while though so not surprised

Its only 4 months? I don't think she's the sort to care about something like that. Especially when she probably doesn't actually know the release date. I also think it was over a year before she got Reputation as she didn't know it was out & I didn't think to buy it for her as I didn't realise she did love Taylor still so the 4 months is nothing compared to that

If it was me & a favourite singer I'm totally there on wanting the music ASAP. But if someone could buy it for me I'd appreciate that too. Plus there's other ways of listening if you do need to wait


Does anyone know the answer to my question about the songs on the two different versions? Or we don't know yet since we don't have the tracklist yet either?

Guess if you talk to her she can decide if she wants to wait for it.

Yeah I will, but I do also know its highly unlikely that she'll get it sooner . Its not like I'm making her wait. I'm just the likely source of her being able to get it. I'd never force her into waiting, I'm not that mean. I do get how waiting until Christmas sounds otherwise, but it would actually be me doing a nice thing & finding a way for her to get something she's likely to want

I can also always buy it for her, let her have it when the album comes out, but tell her that its for Christmas so she won't get a present then if she has it now (& again somehow I think she'd still opt for the waiting for Christmas bit as she likes presents )

Yep. I mean, with the amount of different versions there are, there may be more by Christmas. Maybe let her look at what's available and choose which one she would like.
