Right now a lot of people are showing interesting in keeping this board open and alive, so that's what you should take in consideration, not what happened months ago.

I don't want this board to close. I think there is more than enough interest in keeping this board open! I would not want it to close for all the wrong reasons, because you said the counts are more than okay and there are posters interested.

Well, I've been in your shows and I completely understand what you mean. We had the same situation on Skins board where me and my co-mod were just talking to each other, things have improved since then, but I don't know for how long, so I say if you guys feel like it's time for the board to go, then it should go. I don't really get people here saying like you haven't even tried, I'm pretty sure you've tried for many years, but somehow it doesn't work. Mods usually know the situation on their board better and if they say there are no regular posters that would apply for the position, then it's probably true. Of course people who don't want this board to close will try to help now, but usually they burn out pretty quickly. Been there, done that I'll keep fingers crossed for the best outcome possible, but you guys should do what you feel is right After all, no one knows the situation better than you do.

But again, why not just let people try? It can never hurt, and if no one applies then the moderators were proved right, congratulations. But I don't think you can close a board when there is clear interest, whether it is new or not.

why is it so bad that more people are posting and showing an interest now tho? Most mods/regular posters at a board are happy when there's an influx of new posters to a board. Who cares how they came became interested, the fact of the matter is that they are interested. And that's a great thing.

I'm v sad to read that you're thinking about closing the board, as a former mod and poster of this board. from personal experience I know it can get very tiring when it's just the two (or three) posters, but honestly that shouldn't matter if you love Kristen. especially now that she has American Ultra and other projects coming up. but there are ways to get more posters (tumblr etc) you just got to try a little. personally, I stopped posting because I wasn't feeling the vibe of the board anymore. I felt left out because I didn't ship a particular ship and it drove me away from what used to be my favorite board.

see but I feel like this isn't true, because you do/did discuss rumors about her private life. but it always seemed to me that you did do it, when it fit your view of how Kristen's life is. I was all for wanting to discuss her movies, events, etc. and I tried to but, I couldn't escape that one particularly ship that I'm not into, because it got brought up randomly in threads that had nothing to do with it.

It'd be great if the interest in the board gets renewed, but posters tend to disappear after a while. I got my hopes high way too many times on Skins board and every time people just stopped posting after a while, so personally I wouldn't count on it that much. Those people haven't posted there before, so no guarantee they will stick around, sadly. Of course they just can step down with all the newcomers around, but the question that should be asked IMO is whether any of you would actually apply?

I don't get why you all keep asking the same question, when the answer we keep giving is "why don't you just let them try? And just see what happens."

On New Girl I've wanted to close, because it was me and another poster and when I said I wanted to people came and stuck around. One of them now the mod. and the board being pretty active again. so there are different stories as well to this.

first of all, i'm sad to see this thread up as i personally know how hard it was to.put up for both of you. i say that if you guys want to close the board, that is your decision as i know that it just been you two doing all the work and that's too much to put on two people, sure you could try to bring more interest but that'll probably only last a couple months and then you're back here, where it started so why bother. i understand where you guys are at and if you guys want to close it, you should be able to without anyone stopping you, i am on your side with this and i always will be!

Dacrown, it happened with my board, Soaps, and last year, I stepped down and honestly thought that the board would be closed because it was just two of us (mods) who stepped down at same time and I thought after I was gone, it would be closed. But we decided to open the mod announcement thread and guess what? We got two mods in that year. One poster just came on that board out of nowhere and got interested and applied so I thought if we got the applicant, it would be just only one mod but in few months later, we got two mods. And now I came back and got the board. So see how far this board has gone from last year to now? Trust me, it was just two of us posting on that board with very few posters who only posted on few threads. So I honestly thought that the board would be over the moment I left but it didn't. So if we closed it, this board wouldn't be here right now. So why don't we give it a try and see what happens with this board.

One Direction was so close to closing when the moderator decided to step down and was willing to let it die because no one was posting, it was just the moderators mostly. 1,5 years and 200,000 posts later, we're not doing to bad for a board that was an inch from closing because the moderators didn't see another option.

fireproof, that's a really great story! And I'm glad there are board that got a second chance. But there are board that didn't, or are slowly dying, like my board. I really hope this board gets a second chance, but at the same time I'm just saying don't count on it too much, don't get your hopes up because you might be disappointed one more time if you give it a go and it won't work out. What I think they should do is ask people that are willing to help out now, if any of them want to apply, maybe via pm or whatever. Why not to back up yourselves? If somebody wants to apply, then of course, step down and let somebody else take the position, but if no one else wants, then I'd probs close it down.

It looks to me that there are a lot of people stopping this from happening, tbh. I'm not saying that the mod's opinion isn't important (obviously it is), but everybody else also has a saying. And it literally doesn't hurt to try; if the opening goes wrong and nobody gets appointed, you can honestly say that you did all you could to prevent a board from closing. This is the 2nd female celebs board with the most posts, I honestly think it deserves something better than this ~it's time to close it option.

Dacrown, we'll never know what will happen with this board if we don't try to have an opening. And given the response this thread is getting, I think there are good chances of people applying. This isn't the first board on with a possible closure thread, I think everyone here knows what is required to keep a board alive.
