All I caught was that one of the girls was also named Jessica, and the boy who noticed me was named Jacob.
"I’m Jacob Black. You bought my dad’s truck."
But I really did like Jacob. He was someone I could easily be friends with.
"Seen anything you like?", I teased, nodding towards a group of girls lined up against the wall like pastel confections. "Yeah," he sighed. "But she's taken."
"Can you believe my dad paid me twenty bucks to come to your prom?"
"He said to tell you, no, to warn you, that — and this is his plural, not mine, ‘We’ll be watching.’"

"Hi I'm Jacob, we use to make mud pies when we were little."
"Right no I remember."

Jacob: "I totally rebuilt the engine." (talking about Bella's truck)
Bella: "Oh my gosh this is perfect!"

Bella: "What are you stalking me?"
Jacob: "You're on my res remember?"

Jacob: "Nice." (motioning at Bella's prom dress)
Bella: "You too. Are you crashing prom or something? Did you come with a date?"
Jacob: "No."
