I don't think that's the issue; they get scenes, way more than other friendship/romantic pairings on the show. It's just that they have bad blood. In the Pilot I watched again last week, Ben hated Ricky for no good reason within the first five minutes. And then it was because Ricky was a player who had Grace and Adrian, along with every other chick, in his back pocket. And finally, he knocked up Amy, Ben's first girlfriend.

Let's not forget the revenge sex

That was definitely a Hoe b4 Bro moment.

Ben holds a grudge and Ricky's keeping it real.
