I was just watching the episode of them last night. It was kind of sad when Henry tells Ashley she's beautiful and she begins to tear a little. Then she tells him she has a lot going on in her life, I wonder what she meant by that.

Probably just her parents splitting up and Amy's pregnancy. We need see how Ashley interacts at middle school. Does she have friends?

That was a very sad but touching moment:

Henry: I mean you're beautiful. You maybe the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.

Ashley: Just shut up okay.

Henry: You don't know that?

Ashley: Just, please don't tell anyone okay.

Henry: Never.

Ashley: I've- I've been though a lot lately.

How beautiful was that moment? It was a whole new side to Ashley that we haven't seen before. And now she and Henry have their own little secret which is really sweet.

As for what Ashley meant by that I'm sure it's a mixture of things: Her parents, Amy, her grandmother. I seriously think there was more to that though. We don't know enough about Ashley's past. Like every character, she's a certain way for a reason and it would be nice to know her back story.

To think about it, this was the first time Ashley showed true emotion. It's cool how Henry was able to bring that out in her.

You know you're absolutely right. Ashley has never showed any emotion aside from her occasionally lashing out but this is the first time where you could see the pain and sadness in her eyes as well as feel deeply at just what she was saying.

I was watching the marathon last night and really enjoyed rewatching that scene between Ashley and Henry in Adrian's bedroom. He looked genuinely blown away by her beauty and I love how he was so honest about it; and I love that she didn't believe him and got choked up when he said that. I don't think she gets shown that attention much at home, especially now with Amy and the baby.

I hope they take these two somewhere in the new episodes. !

Yeah the shipper name is somewhat new. This thread has been a few pages back I think which is why it was not really seen.

I completely agree with what you said Ashley. It is understandable as to why Ashley isn't treated that way at home. Just like their parents didn't know Amy, they don't know Ashley either. Her behavior doesn't make sense to them so they don't really know how to deal with it. It's like Ashley said, Amy is the only one that treats her like an adult so Amy at least understands her.

As for Henry, he was able to look past Ashley's "odd" behavior and see her for the person that she tries to hide from.

It will be nice to see where or if they take these characters in a direction on the same path.

Yeah. What I loved was the fact that Alice was jealous Henry was dating Ashley because she was in middle school. Very funny. Alice had her chance and they just didn't work now it's Ashley's turn!
