Speaking of post counts...I was a lurker for about 6 months before I joined
at the end of Season 3 of DC original airings..and back then all I basically
did was post on the PJ thread. I used to post on alot of other boards too,
but mainly stick to 2 or 3 now. I don't post much on DC board anymore
since it is over run by DJers and most of the PJ fans I talked to from 2000-03,
have left or just lurk. It's not as exciting on there as it was when the show
was still airing new eps, obviously. I actually didn't start posting on Josh's board
until 2003, that I can remember. So, my post count reflects that I tend to
just sit back and read what others say. I am very critical of what I post
sometimes, and am aware that my writing is lacking at times.
Now, I could post a ton of 1 or 2 word posts to build my post count, but why
bother, it's not like you win any prizes for having a million posts!!!!

so you went to Myrtle Beach? Did you happen to see the locations where they
filmed the 100th episode of DC? I'm not sure where it was, just know it was
filmed there. I think the Kmart they used in Castaways was in Myrtle Beach too
{anyone feel free to correct me on that, since I'm not entirely sure, I just
know for a fact it wasn't the Kmart in Wilmington}. You were only an hour and
a half away from CAPESIDE Donna! Maybe next time, right?
The last time I went to Myrtle Beach, it was to go to Planet Hollywood. I think it
is closed down now.
I'm glad you had fun and sorry about you losing all of your pictures and
everything.
As for the sea glass and fan fic mention, it is also mentioned in A Hopeful Life!

I kept thinking it was the one in Raleigh? At least that's what I remember -- but I do know that the filmed the dinner scene from Castaways in my hotel ballroom!

ETA: Nope, you're right, Jen. It was the Myrtle Beach K-Mart. I think they wanted to use a more local Wal-Mart in N.C., but K-Mart was the one that agreed, and only if they used the newer suped up one in My. Beach. Heh. Crazy kids.

im going to concert on may 13th in Dublin (yeah im insane i travel from newastle in the UK to dublin in IRELAND to watch a band that havent played together in 10 years lol)

George hasnt toured in yonks... i thought he didnt like touring...

tell me if he does careless whisper it is my FAVOURITE song by him... though i did love it when he did that album with all the old songs in... that was when i feel in lvoe with his version of roxanne(though always adore the sting version) and my baby just cares for me.

Katie, I set up the Earl Crest appreciation thread with synopsis, pics and all -- took me about 20-30 minutes -- went to post and the *@&$##! server was down last night! Oh, I was SO very ticked. I promise I'll try again soon.

And Jen, you're funny! While we were in Myrtle Beach, I happened to spot a highway sign that read, "Wilmington 59". My heart stopped and I thought, "Holy crap! I could WALK to Capeside!!!" I was SO tempted to suggest to my husband that we should really check out the world famous Azalea Festival there... (then Leery's Fresh Fish, the infamous curved road, THE wall...) next time for sure. We'll be back; my husband loves MB.

As for the 100th epi locations, the piers were really far from us, but we stayed at the big Holiday Inn right there on the beach. Hey... I'm going to have to go back through my tapes (ugh!) 'cause that hotel seems oddly familiar... I don't remember seeing a super K-Mart, though -- darn! I'm a Wal-Mart girl and that's where we went. But I have to tell you, every K-Mart I go into just takes me back to Castaways.

Notice how everyone on that epi was wearing long pants and fleece pullovers? (Weren't they supposed to have gone to Florida?) That's exactly what Myrtle Beach was like for us on Spring Break. And the wind!! It was knocking us over.

Good news!!! My video camera bag has ended up at Jim's uncles's house in Columbia, SC. Don't know HOW we could have left it there -- don't care!! We've got everything back now. Oh, what a HUGE relief. We've got William's First Communion next weekend and my dad and sister are coming down for that. I was this close to purchasing all new electronics. That would NOT have gone over well in my household.

Glad you got the camera bag back Donna, there is nothing worse than losing photos. We lost a roll of film from our first trip to NYC, we were gutted and even more so after 9/11 as it had loads of pics of the WTC on it, something we would never be able to recapture. Also ended up with crap pics from our trip to Washington DC and Virginia, with all the damn scanners the camera had to go through in DC it ruined the films!!! Hence, we now have a digital camera!!

to return to Seattle? Just wondering, since you had that info (or
just recognized the ballroom).

Donna, I'm so glad you got your stuff back! Guess everyone worrying
for you sent some good karma back! Yeah, being that close to
Wilmy was probably a bit heart pumping for you..it's almost a religious
experience to visit 'Capeside' for the first time...I can't wait to hear
about your time there when it happens!

Droplet, if you are a fan of "Careless Whisper", you may have seen a fan
video someone made from Love Bites of PJ, using that song. It's so sad,
so now when I hear that song, I think of that episode.
And as for American Idol..., I 'should' be voting for Taylor, since he's
an Alabama native such as myself....but I voted for Bo Bice last year (who
was also from AL, and he didn't win!) I just prefer rockers! Plus, Chris is from
North Carolina where my family is from, so I feel justified in voting for him
and not the "Alabama guy!" My top 3 are Chris, Kat (McPhee, now why would
I like that name? and Elliot.

By the way, can anyone tell me if my avatar is working? When I see it, the
animation is frozen on the word Vote. Is there anyway I can view it on the
board, or is that a problem with something else that fan forum can't fix?

And when I DO visit Wilmy for the first time, I want to do it right. I'll need somebody decent with me. Hey Donna, when I win the lottery I'll fly out and we both can go!!! That would be a blast, a couple of housewives loose in Wilmy with no kids or husbands!!! People would drive down the road looking at these two thirty something broads laughing and posing like school girls on the side of the road!! But I don't want to reenact the "Aren't ya tired of talkin" scene!!!

Hey...can I get in on this trip...I would love to go with a bunch of 30 something housewives to Willywood...Only if you guys can handle a 40 Something ( and I'm using that term loosely) getting crazy running all over town, posing and re-enacting and just having a blast.... Capeside will never be the same again..and who cares if they think we're.... ...LOL...LOL
