I like that Sookie is finally exploring her power/strength on the show but I truly believe she can only do this with Eric because Bill places too many limitations on her. He doesn't want her to expand past him so he will never embrace or nuture this part of her. Eric on the other hand sees a ruthlesness in her, Sookie knows it too that's why she had the dream of him saying this. There is no hiding with Eric

I guess it could be. Maybe they're adding powers to the fairy aspect because nothing in the book was like that.
