It may be because what we saw of the alternate universe in that episode was actually Olivia's visions. They could be distorted or somewhat altered in her mind. Or it could be a completely different alternate universe. There's nothing that says there is only one.

Never really thought about it like that

That’s kinda creepy

Fringe could be a creepy show. And we know that Olivia had an ability to see or sense things that others don't.

Or maybe because the show got some new writers when they moved the set to Vancouver for S2.

Vancouver is a great location for creepy atmosphere

FoxPhile 11-05-2021 03:52 PM

It's also an inexpensive place to film, from what I've heard.

it is. and since a lot of studios film there, location scouting is probably easier since there's a lot of crossover between productions.

There's a good chance the locals have gotten used to film crews milling around, so that can reduce the gawkers.

That too  Very good point.

I know for The X-Files, there are location tours that you can go on to go to different locations around Vancouver where the show was filmed.

I used to live just outside Washington, DC. There are a number of movies and shows that have filmed there and it always amuses me to watch them, so I can nitpick the stuff they get wrong.

I tend to just ignore stuff like that if they pretend it’s somewhere else

:lmao: i love that.

i grew up in new england have traveled extensively throughout there and in NY/PA/NJ. i always laugh when i see shows that were set "in" those areas but filmed in CA (especially since i lived in CA for 3.5 years and know the LA landscape very well!). those very specific LA hills that look nothing like the north east.

i notice it for when shows are filmed in vancouver, too, but some shows do a better job about disguising their filming location(s) than others.

a few months ago i was sitting in a theater watching a horror film ("the night house") and i kept going, wow, this looks SO familiar! turns out it was filmed around where i live now in central NY. :lmao: "a quiet place" also filmed in central NY and i recognize the area in the background very well.

if a show/movie is done well, it's easy to forget that it's not filmed on location.
