Random bit, but I was watching Jeopardy and "FRINGE" was the answer to the first $200 question in Double Jeopardy.

It was question: Blair Brown, Joshua Jackson

You had to guess the show by the cast. I think using Blair Brown was a bit too obscure. Maybe saying Anna or John Noble would have been more helpful.

I don't think Peter needs the osmium in that case but this element maybe has something to do with him or the machine, like iridium i think. Iridium is the cylinder's element. I wonder if the machine is made with osmium or iridium, or both!
Or maybe osmium is in Peter's DNA or organism, but he doesn't float like those people who inject it. There's a set picture about that episode where peter takes a pair of shoes and then they float. Very cool

Jade86, it will be very interesting if in this episode the writers use the case as a way to introduce the elements like you mentioned as another connection between Peter and the machine. I agree there has to be a reason for the case. So many possibilities!

If the machine is able to levitate because of Peter, I wonder why. It is suppose to take Peter somewhere? Is there a certain location it has be in order to destroy/create?

Just read this in my TV Guide. They're claiming Fringe is a 'safe bet'.

Already locked in for fall are Simon Cowell's new show, X-Factor, and Terra Nova, so Fox can be picky about which underperformers get renewed. The small but loyal cadre of fans for Fringe has followed the show to its new time period, Fridays at 9 PM - doubling the rating of the canceled The Good Guys. It looks promising for a fourth season if Fox and the show's studio, Warner Bros., can agree on a lower license fee. The network will also have to make judgment calls on Lie to Me and Human Target.

Same here. I don’t want that to happen and I don’t want Peter to die with the machine and then live in another place or universe or reality.

Thank you for the news, Mary. They’re writing the last episode. I wonder if they know it will be the last of the season or of the show. There are days I’m optimistic about a renewal, others, not so much. The numbers aren’t good. If it’s renewed it’s because someone at FOX really loves the show. Maybe we’ll have a 13 episodes season four and then they’ll see. I wouldn’t mind.
