I hate the dentist

I have gum disease, so about twice a year I have to get a really intense cleaning. It's a bit like getting your teeth and gums sand-blasted. They give me a topical anesthetic, but it only helps a little and when it wears off, your whole mouth throbs.

Yeah I got into a car accident a few years ago and had to have half my mouth re-done. Into painful and expensive

We've had the most wild windstorm for the past couple of days. A lot of folks lost power.

Come and live in the North West of England. We have warmish rainy days all summer and cold windy rainy days all winter. No water shortage here.

I don't mind the dentist as I had extensive work done a while back so don't have many back teeth - a lot less to go wrong. When I was young the dentistry wasn't very good and after a few bad experiences I got a phobia about going, hence when I did eventually go I had a few back teeth out. I had an implant a few years ago in the front to replace a broken root but apart from that I usually get told my gums are healthy when I visit the dentist. When he does a clean and polish he is very gentle so it is not too unpleasant.

After some nasty experiences when I switched dentists, I'm back to my old dentist. He's much more gentle and more aware when he's doing something that's likely to be uncomfortable. So while it wasn't a picnic, it was better than the other guy was.

Had a bit of a shock today at work. The woman who sits in the desk next to mine died on Saturday. She had a heart attack, although she was just 50 years old. She'd been with us just about a year. Very sad.

I think I'm going to put off going through my moms things for as long as possible Funeral planning and all that is stressful enough.

So sorry to hear about your mom! Definitely take your time. Don't let anyone convince you that you have to follow any timeline other than your own.

A few of my aunts and uncles seem to want to just rush everything and put it past them but Ive spent at least 4 days a weak for the last 31 years with her so sorry to say it might be easy and well for them but it seems like people would be more considerate.


Just wish her death hadn't come out of nowhere and so fast just after she was getting better
