My dad wanted me to show him how to build furniture so we made this rolling kitchen island in two days. Pics aren’t very good cause the sun in the garage is poor in late afternoon, but it’s beautiful! We started drinking Fireball whiskey to celebrate the last few steps and then I effed up the drawer panel! HA! More picks after sanding/painting/staining.

I just have one doubt about this part:

“Why don’t you have the same last name as your Dad?”, they would ask. “Um. Because my parents never got married so I just have my Mom’s last name,”

You can't have your dad's name if your parents aren't married?

I don't know if it's the law in the US, but in most countries I know, it can be the mother's or the father's name. People can choose.
