My old boyfriend always wondered why I liked Fringe and The X-Files, but couldn't watch any of the Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I can't really explain it myself.

Yeah, I avoid scary/horror stuff. And my dad once commented he was surprised I like Fringe, because of how graphic it is. But I guess I was so focused on the characters that the other stuff just didn't bother me too much.

I didn't find either Fringe or The X-Files all that graphic. There were a couple of episodes that got a bit nasty, but nothing like what they do in some horror movies.

With both Fringe and TXF, the things that got to me were some of the really creepy characters. like Alistair Peck or David Robert Jones. On TXF Eugene Victor Tooms and the Flukeman top my list.
