We're not done with the AU!

Wyman and Pinkner about the AU:

"We're going to continue to tell stories about those [AU]characters. We love them too."

Well, I didn't think we'd be done with them, yet. Mostly because we still have this "war" that they think we have against them going on.

Me neither, but I’d like to know more about their dynamics; to know more about Peter’s parents relationship and the new Alt-livia/Fringe division dynamics.

For me, I'd like to know what Walternate was like BEFORE he lost Peter. Was the as cold and bitter as he is now? Was he ruthless and rude? I mean, I remember that our Walter had a bit of a mean streak in him before Bell took out parts of his brain . . .so wouldn't they still have in common? I just don't identify as well with Walternate and his plight. At least Walter asked Bell to remove those parts of his brain for a multitude of reasons and it allowed him to be a lot less ruthless. But man, it'll be interesting if this just blows over once everyone knows that there really isn't a war or if something major will happen.

sofiab 12-16-2010 11:40 AM

I don’t think he was like he is now, but some of the traits must have been there too; I don’t think he was that different from Walter; what made the difference was that Walter sensed the kind of man he was becoming and did something about it, or at least he tried. Walternate, on the contrary, due to the events with his universe and the fact that Peter was stolen from him, became darker, ruthless.

What I would also like to know is if the damages caused to the AU were a consequence of Walter crossing over or if they were already experiencing some of them and it got worse with Walter crossing over. I also think that Walternate’s experiences must also contribute to the state of AU universe.

But despite everything i still think that the AU and the people from there in general have a special energy and joy that can be a consequence of the state of fragility of their universe. A sort of “let’s enjoy life to the fullest because tomorrow you can be ambered”.

I hope we are not done with Henry the cab driver. It's going to be really strange for him if he runs into altLivia.

I'd love to see that. "You here, again? Where's home this time?"

It will be interesting to know what the team knows about Colonel Broyles death. There's a new leader, but I wonder if they know about Alt-Livia's mission over here? And how's she behaving? We'll have Frank, Lincoln, Charlie! I'm excited.

What if ..."Fringe" exec producer Jeff Pinkner puts forth a sports scenarios that might have been

What if? Have any two words started more dorm debates? What if Washington had drowned attempting to cross the Delaware -- would America still be saluting the Queen? What if Jenny Porter and I hadn't broken up in junior year -- would we be married and living in Chicago with two kids and a French bulldog? Seriously, what if I had flippers instead of fingers -- how would I hold this beer?

"Fringe," the TV show J.H. Wyman and I run, imagines an alternate universe -- a world like ours, populated with people just like us, but with subtle differences brought about by historical tweaks. In the Fringe world, the Statue of Liberty retains its copper sheen because she's never been allowed to oxidize, we fly in zeppelins because the Hindenburg disaster never happened and Len Bias is a living member of basketball's Hall of Fame, having led Boston to five titles instead of OD'ing two days after draft night.

The Mag asked me to apply the same fuzzy, godlike logic to other sports scenarios. Here's how it all would have unfolded had one moment gone another way.

I don’t know if we’re going to see that, but we’re going to see them. And it sounds pretty amazing!
