The Original Beverly Hills 90210 Thread October 4, 1990 till May 17, 2000  90210 Biography: One of the most popular primetime television soap operas aired on FOX broadcasting network in the United States, the Beverly Hills 90210, was a tale of a group of teenagers residing in the posh, star studded community of Beverly Hills, California. From the fictitious Beverly Hills High School to the fictitious California University, The Beverly series showed the sweet and the bitter experiences these young men and women undergo in their lives. The creation of Darren Star and production of Aaron Spelling hogged the limelight on the small screen from October 4, 1990 till May 17, 2000. The show commenced with the story of fraternal twins Brandon and Brenda Walsh who moved with their parents Jim and Cindy from Wayzata, Minnesota, a Minneapolis suburb to Beverly Hills. The character of Brandon was played by Jason Priestley, the famous naturalized American actor and film director whereas the beautiful American actress and television director Shannen Doherty performed the role of Brenda Walsh. The series eventually progressed with Brandon, Brenda and their young friends and brought to light the ethics over the social issues such as date rape, alcoholism, drug abuse, teenage suicide and teenage pregnancy. Beverly Hills 90210 gained widespread popularity in the summer of 1991. At this time FOX aired a special “summer season” of the show when most other serials were simply repeating their episodes. As a result the viewership of the series augmented significantly and the characters of Jason and Luke (Luke Perry, American actor who played the role of Dylan Michael) became everyone’s favorite. They were crowned the teen idols and the actresses Shannen and Tori (Tori Spelling, American actress who played Donna Martin) made the household names. Though at present Beverly Hills 90210 is no more telecasted, yet its memories are vivid in the minds of its fans. The show was nominated for ten Golden Globes Awards and it also bagged some great awards such as ASCAP Award for Top TV series in 1995.  Fans of the Original: 1. *Stacy* 2. The only thing with Shannen is she's a guest star, not a re-curring. Kelly is recurring and part of the cast.
