Hi, I'm fairly new to the fandom and this board. I lurked on the Deb/Dexter thread once, but that was it. I started watching OnDemand, so I saw season 6 first. My brother had season 1, so now I'm watching 2 through Netflix. I'm almost done with season 2 and I'm excited. I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but so far, I can't stand Harry. He went from being this hero who taught Dexter a code to a crappy father who lied to Dexter and his mother, cheated on his wife and may or may not have wanted to have Dexter be the one who avenged Laura. The whole thing with poor Brian made me even angrier-He failed Laura and knew that Brian wasn't
 up, he was just older than Dexter. She wouldn't have wanted her boys to get separated and he promised nothing would happen to them.I'm still waiting to find out when Deb realizes Brian and Dexter are related and what happens with Lundy, but season 6 has the best murderer, imo. I saw the end of the episode where Rita dies, but it's still not as gross as Travis and his crazy bible killings. __________________

So good to have you with us!!  Hope you'll be keeping us up to date with your thoughts as you go through the series! I have to say I have mixed emotions about Harry. In a way I am thankful for his existance (when he was still alive or in spirit) to keep Dex centered and not slip up. I'd hate to think what would happen to him. I think as you'll watch the series you'll see how Dex is going through different stages about how he feels about Harry and the code too. It's quite complex really, but really interesting to watch the inner struggle Dex has on several occasions and in different situations. Really interesting to read your thoughts about it! Thanks for sharing! |

I don't mind Harry, but I do feel sorry for Deb. She was his daughter and all her life he neglected her because of Dexter. I do hope one day Deb finds out the real reason why this was the case and she can sort of move out of her Dad's shadow because she always feels she has to live up to him. __________________
