So let's use this thread to share our thoughts about what has happened so far between them and what will happen in S8?

Who was 'right' about what was right for Dexter?
Who loves and/or understands him more/better, and why?
What defines being 'close' and how 'close' are they really to our 'hero'?

Dexter is a rare creature, not many knew his true nature, not until now. Deb only knew the mask him while as Hannah knew the real him right away.

Hannah accepted Dex for what he is, whilst Deb struggles with this.

Well to be fair, Deb has a long history with Dex, and how he has been perceived so far... I think she deserves some credit for that no matter what her real feelings for him would be...

Thing is, Hannah may know him in some respects, Deb knows him in others too. It's not that simple I think. They've been through a lot..

It's hard to know where they all really stand and how much they really do understand each other and even want to with all the things at stake..That will probably make this the ultimate series, because so much is at stake and it al depends on what we want to happen to those we care about most. I suspect it won't be a bad ending for Deb, in fact I hope it won't be, regardless. It would nullify whatever we have felt for her throughout the series, whereas we only kow Hannah for one. But who knows, if they're gunning for shock value at the end it might - at the very least I expect Deb to be in some peril in S8 and they may turn the heat up on that.

Still expecting some fiery scenes between these two, regardless of how they feel about Dex (even if that definitely will be key one way or another - as we don't know how Hannah feels now nor what way Deb will go after LaGuerta etc).

I'd be disappointed if we didn't because it's such a rich ground to be harvesting from ito character development and insights into Dex as well. I'm definitely hoping for it for S8.

That scene was amazing though as it summed up so much of what was going on in this threesome and the major breakthroughs after 6 previous series of culmination into catharsis..

Hmmm no I think she was aware of it before as well - only thinking it was more about protecting her brother rather than as a love interest.
