Analog Heart Appreciation #2: You made me fall forever with no end in sight
Analog Heart is the debut solo album by David Cook originally released as an independent record on May 6, 2006. Analog Heart won the Urban Tulsa Weekly's "Absolute Best of Tulsa" award for "Best Locally Produced, Independent Album" in 2007. The album was chosen as the fourth-best CD released in 2006 by website Music Equals Life. On April 18th, 2008, Analog Heart was listed as the number one album for "Today's Top MP3 Albums" on Amazon.com, and David Cook was listed as number one for "Today's Top MP3 Artists". After enjoying the top-selling album at the Amazon MP3 store, American Idol contestant David Cook’s 2006 album Analog Heart was pulled from the digital music service. No reason was provided by AI producers or Amazon as to why the album was made unavailable, but web-based rumors that Cook was actually an AI-installed “ringer” in the competition began to swell following Cook’s top-selling week (he even edged the debut of Mariah Carey’s E=MC2). The Songs 1. Straight Ahead 2. Don't Say a Word 3. Fall Back Into Me 4. The Truth 5. Searchlights 6. Porcelain 7. Stitches 8. Let Go 9. Makeover 10. Silver 1. Straight Ahead (4:14) So take a minute just to breathe And think of everything you wanted And what you got instead Is it a labor just to see Around the left or right over my head To straight ahead 2. "Don't Say a Word" - 4:37 So step down, look around You could leave it all behind And never hear another sound Still you’re holding onto someone That will never show you the same 3. "Fall Back Into Me" - 3:35 i was a name across your lips it's time to spit me out I played the game when my heart rips it's time to hear me out (what I do without) when everything's the same and nothing ever changes will you fall back into me? 4. "The Truth" - 4:48 Your laugh, intoxicating One touch and im negating everything around.[...] I rest my head from running circles round my mind On why you let go, no answer to be found Romances don't rewind I guess I'll never know, why your absence is devastating no touch to calm my hating everyone around 5. "Searchlights" - 4:29 You are for contradiction's sake, Everything I remember that I swore I'd forget. Your life has served you well. But everyone around has perished from this fire that you've lit. Under Me. You make me fall forever. With no end in sight. When everything around is broken, could you say that this felt right? 6. "Porcelain" - 3:53 The paint is worn bare Your eyes have starting fading Were they ever even really there Nothing to give with everything you take The cracks in your smile make it impossible to decipher something legible Your porcelain face and a heart of glass 7. "Stitches" - 4:04 And I found what I always wanted As she walked away And I ran aground with this wound untreated Let it wash away Stitch me up And bleed me out Stitch me up And bleed me out (it's over) 8. "Let Go" - 3:20 Has it been that long since you opened up your eyes To look out below Cause it will hit you when you're not watching I don't know Why you won't let go So let go 9. "Makeover" - 3:37 She fell out; her broken legs won’t let her walk away From this town that couldn’t give a single **** either way And her fears they bled before she’s convinced that they’re real What are you looking for? Are you looking for something more? It’s not me, it’s not me When did it all unwind? Are you prepared for what you’ll find? It’s not me, it’s not me 10. "Silver" - 4:22 This song is a melody Meant to show you little more than a better history An open sky of redemption The kind you always burn from So take this small confession as my price to pay I’ve never been the kind to let go But before you up and walk away I’m miserable without you, you know This silver leaves me burning for gold Second place has never carried me home Previous Threads: 1 __________________

Aww, where's the love for AH? Doesn't anyone listen to it anymore?
Anyway, now we know the total number of AH copies sold: Quote:

Steph and I listened to it on the to WV Along with everything else the man's ever done.
Yeah if they counted pirated DLs it'd be a big ass number. But Dave says he's just happy we wanna listen to it. |

Well, that's good. Yesterday when I was driving around, I listened to AH among the other DC stuff and belted out to Searchlights on more than one occasion.
Yep, he's given his permission to download it for free so now I don't have to feel bad. But anyway, if it was available to purchase legally, especially as a physical CD, I would get it. __________________
