But even so that was the reason they got married, but Georges seemed really hurt though as shown in the gif, I wonder if he could have really truly fell for Madeleine at one point there? But just that Madeleine didn't return his feelings perhaps?

No he was just possessive and was mad she was cheating. It was nothing more than physical with those two and she didn't want to have sex all the time like Georges she was a business woman and yet here sh ewas cheating on him with another man of course he's mad that's his wife

Oh right, it does make sense then that Georges could have been possessive and he still had his pride as a man and having been shamed by Madeleine like that wouldn't have been a good feeling.
