I love the pining angst but I hate to see characters that I genuinely like in pain because they deny themselves what they want.

I skipped ahead to watching the scene when Fish said "I love you Kyle, and I think you still love me." and while part of my heart was cheering for Kyle at not letting himself be dragged back into the pain Fish caused him the other half of my heart was so unbelievably sad for Fish at getting rejected when he finally got the courage to declare his love.

Yeah, I get what you mean.
Fish was struggling with his sexuality and I understand that, not everyone is so bold about themselves, you know. It had to take a while for him to accept who he was. __________________
