General Hospital Star Laments the Triangle That Can Never Be Formed


On January 17, General Hospital leading man Dominic Zamprogna reflected on an especially fortuitous confluence of events: the taping of an episode in which he got to work with both Kelly Monaco and her on-screen sister Kate Mansi.

“It’s a good day on a good gig with these two power players,” he remarked on Instagram as he shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the trio wearing anything-but-basic black.

Mansi had an amusingly cheeky, different take on the scene, however. “What a wasted threesome this could’ve been,” she said. And indeed, the frontburner mainstays could play the heck out of a love triangle — if only it weren’t for their characters’ family trees.

Mansi’s Kristina and Monaco’s Sam are, of course, half sisters. And Zamprogna’s Dante has a father in common with Kristina: Sonny, who as we all know sired pretty much half of Port Charles. (How anyone finds a non-related love interest in that town, we’ll never understand!)

Luckily, all three actors are currently embroiled in evolving love stories on screen. Dante and Sam are forging full-steam ahead with their relationship — although the soap’s 2024 preview (which you can read here) hints at trouble right around the corner. And Kristina has viewers all fired up over her romance with Blaze.

Well guys it is frusrating that Dante was shot while wearing a bulletproof vest I understand & he still ended up in a hospital where I am unsure if he has regained conciousness yet. I think that he will survive & he still has children to look after I believe, though they rarely get screen time on General Hospital". Lulu is still in a coma as far as I know. Depressing.

^Very. I'm assuming he'll be okay. The actors who play Scout, Danny AND Rocco were on set recently and it seems together so maybe some Dante and kids scenes to come.

Hope that you correct. I think that Dante & Lulu are each in a coma as unlikely as that is. Darn it. Curious if he gets out of it.

Dante has been a favorite of mine since 2009. He just woke up from a coma, so he will continue to be one of my favorites. The scene where Sonny shot Dante in 2020 is one of this show's all-time greatest moments.
