Him
Theodore Evelyn Mosby is portrayed by Josh Radnor. In 2030, Ted sat down to tell
his kids the story of how he met their mother. Beginning in 2005, Ted's meandering
journey has taken him through many failed relationships, including being left at the
altar. But the architect-turned-professor isn't giving up on his search for the perfect woman.

Her
Robin Charles Scherbatsky, Jr. is portrayed by Cobie Smulders. She is a
Scotch-drinking, cigar-smoking, gun-toting Canadian pop-star-turned-journalist-turned-
morning-show-host. Robin befriended the gang in 2005 after an awkward date with Ted
Mosby. She is the fiercely independent woman of the group who also has a hidden soft side.

BR always felt like fan service, cause they were 'popular', that was the only mistake...
But the show kept being renewed, so it kinda make sense why it happenned how it happenned. Im sorry for them in a way, but not so much, because a lot of them have always been rude to us...>> anyway they can pretend the show ended with BR wedding lol, but we got the REAL ENDGAME

Some fans should be happy we get to know a little more the Mother, because it was never the plan in the first place, i know i am happy

I agree with everything. The Mother was just a little part of the large story. I wish I could say I never doubt that but let's say I almost never doubt that.

Is it weird for me to actually think that Max was Tracy's one true love and now they are together? I don't want to sound psychotic. But it must have been universe. I mean, Robin was always the one for Ted, no denying, and I'm sure what Robin was to Ted, Max was to Mother.

I can't believe we got endgame. I was in between tbqh. One minute I thought yes, then the next no but we're finally here!

I do wonder how Ted got the Blue French Horn though. I remember he left it at the apartment a few seasons back but I can't really remember if it was mentioned again after that?

I agree. I mean that's why we stuck by them all these years even when it was hard, right? We believed they were it for each other from the beginning and as it turns out, we were right.

OMG!! Ted and Robin are the endgame. Although i wanted this so badly i never thought that the writers would go in that direction. Because it was suppose to be the story of how Ted met the mother.
But I'm so happy.This was a perfect way of ending the show. Because if Ted hadn't ended up with Robin then the show itself wouldn't be believable.
It all comes back to ROBIN...

I'm glad my crack detective work figuring out the Ted/Robin finale ended up paying off.

After everything Ted & Robin 'shippers had to go through with all the haters and the naysayers calling us sad or delusional, we deserve this moment!

Well, as Sherlock Holmes once said, "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

As you know, I spent all last summer, from June to August, doing a marathon watch of HIMYM from the season 1 pilot to the season 8 finale, mostly at the behest of a friend who liked the show and wanted me to watch it. She's a B/R fan, by the way, and not in a very good mood right now. But it was only by watching the entire show from beginning to end over the course of three months and analyzing every clue the writers left behind that I deduced what Carter Bays and Craig Thomas' plan was all along.

I wouldn't have come to this board, and this thread, if I weren't totally sure of where this was all going. As you know, I'm kind of a detective.

Oh, and here's some much more positive reviews of the finale:
