Beautiful. What I like about their friendship is how naturally it evolved. The decision to accept a person and just let them be themselves. I feel like nothing is really respected in Skins unless there was a quagmire of nonsense beforehand. Drama needed for television aside,It does not always have to be like that. The Grace/Franky scenes in the series have been few but have been lovely and cement them as friends who obviously care for one another very much. When pairings with such potential begin to be ignored it diminishes my belief in the creative teams supposedly sincere motivations. Skins has picked at the scabs of youth for a long time and championed it as the lens magnification of adolescence. Fine. I just wish they would try celebrating the natural beauty of some relationships that ebb and flow with little drama or conflict. Rich/Grace-Grace/Franky-Alo/nearly everyone. Life is like that TOO. Skins inability to merge the two on a consistent level is what frustrates me. Grace's actions was Franky's first real moment of acceptance and belonging in her new area. That was the catalyst for a rising strength in Franky and it began to show. That cannot be ignored. The ballet scene they were already getting ever closer. It's obvious the writers intended for the audience to deduce they spent much time together off screen. Franky made Grace's wedding dress with her loving bare hands and i'm under the impression it had far more to do with how strong their bond is than just the 'kindness of her heart.' Grace never struck me as the type to neglect Franky just because she found a man. Franky never struck me as the type who would neglect Grace.
Their relationship had a solid believable foundation built on faith, period. Based on their evolution they had the most believable new female friendship, period. The Mini stuff is a joke to me based on fantastical inferences. They HAVE TO BE GAY because they are obviously the two best looking girls chosen out of a lineup before the series even had official cast photos. Furthermore due to the fact some wise soul had the foresight to present them as 'eye****ing' lovers in a trailer means it's destiny. To me it's a crock. To know the purity of Grace and Franky's relationship may be ignored for that,makes.me...sick. I can't believe Jamie Brittain had the audacity to use Grace's episode for what I feel were his own rather 'shady' motivations. It bothers me even more she appears to be without any episode this series. Their shared presence,Franky and Grace is believable, absolute truth and should be included in series 6 as much as anything else.
