Yes, I have finally found it, because despite this being the least popular AU couple I've shipped(and that list is very long and varied, as all my ships seem to be either I'll fated or unlikely to happen) there is a whole livejournal community dedicated to it, and a thread where links to all of Transatlanticsm's authors fics for download.

So far it's as glorious as promised, and that's a lot to live up to promise.

wow marla i never saw this post but it's so true. boo them for not having the wherewithal to write effy a storyline even half as compelling as what you've described here. it would have been amazing. e/e would have been rlly hot, too.

I ADORE this couple. They're definitely my favorite alt! pairing. I wish more people would write them, I think they have an interesting dynamic.

Anyway, some other fics I haven't seen mentioned:

Like Charity's "passion is accurate" fantastic early Effily fic. Effy here is particularly brilliant.

likecharity: passion is accurate, effy/emily, nc-17

readyfortiger's Harder than Me, which kind of flips the usual paradigm of Effy/Emily relations.

They're both very smutty, unfortunately I can't think of many other fics besdes Trans that really expands on what they would be as couple. Unlike Naomi/Katie, Naomi/Effy and Katie/Effy which are fairly popular alt pairings.

besides trans and a few other CE/effily fics i've read, it seems like most people just can't get effy right. her characterization must be difficult.

yeah, i'm pretty sure there are only a handful of bitches who care about effy/emily at this point

i guess it would have helped if they'd had more than one or two minimal verbal exchanges between them.
