So, how can one NOT take a character named "Grace Blood" symbolically/metaphrically?
How many times has she returned from beyond the grave? And to how many other characters has she appeared? It's not particularly subtle. But isn't all of season 6 chiefly about "losing Grace"? __________________

Yes, I think this series was really all about Grace even though she was not present for most of the series.
She appeared to three characters in total - Liv, Rich and Franky. The matter of Grace's surname... I would take it symbolically but she is the daughter of David Blood who had been in the series since series 4.. I don't think they made Grace his daughter so that she could have the last name Blood to give some symbolic meaning to her death later on... I don't know, that's just my opinion. |

personally i love jessica sulas portrayal of poor grace blood. i have always loved grace because she was soo sweet and kind and she was the member that actually originally formed 'the gang', she won over their hearts and minds and they all loved her. i was really sad to see her go in series 6 and was in proper tears when she died it was so beautiful but haunting when she phoned rich on episode two and told him it was a lovely sunny day OMG i couldn't believe it when grace's dad said she died that morning it was horrible. i just love everything about jessie and her character in skins 'grace' she was just so lovely OMG i miss her. just a quick comment on series 5 though its weird because that was the first time i had watched a series and loved nearly all the characters in their own right. my top 3 characters are:
-franky fitzgerald -grace blood -richard hardbeck |

yeah i totally agree she really was the glue of the gang, so when she went its like the gang wasnt there anymore at all sort of thing. she was a very strong but at the same time fragile character and thats why i think JB sort to killing her off you know?

It wasn't Jamie Brittain's decision to kill her off. He wasn't a contributor in series six, which is a shame because I thought he did a great job with Rich and Grace in s5
And I can see why they decided to kill her off out of all characters, as much I didn't like it Her death would have affected the whole group since she was their strongest link, and that's why they fell apart so easily without her in s6. Welcome here, btw! Interesting username, I'm one myself |
