Dead I Well May Be by Adrian McKinty. I thought it was quite outstanding. It was a bit difficult to get into McKinty's writing style, but after the first chapter, I was hooked. It's an engrossing book about crime, survival, and vengeance. McKinty's an awesome storyteller, and reading this book was like watching one of those good crime movies.

Children of the Night by Mercedes Lackey: I didn't end up liking it any better than the first book.
