The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, by Michael Chabon
Gorgeous and nostalgic and so touching - plus it's about comic books! What's not to love? __________________

The Woodsman's Daughter by Gwyn Hyman Rubio
It was decent, not as shocking as I expected. I liked some parts more than others. Oh well, I'm on to reading either Slaughterhouse Five or a VC Andrews book. __________________

Retribution by Jilliane Hoffman.
It was really good. A decent thriller, and a very good dramatic story. __________________

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I'm now reading the Dutch translation of this book ... just for kicks. Heh.

I just finished King Lear by Shakespeare for a literature class but I'll probably have to reread it so I can write a paper on it soon. Oh joy and rapture.

Angel-Seeker by Sharon Shinn: Not my favorite in the series, but I liked it.
Love Hina Vol. 1 by Ken Akamatsu: I might have liked it if I was a teenaged boy. Eccentric Circles by Rebecca Lickiss: I wanted to like it since it wasn't the typical urban fantasy, but the writing was weak. Fruits Basket Vol. 16 by Natsuki Takaya: Cute and angsty as always. And I skimmed a bunch of romance books so I could get rid of a box of books that has been sitting in my living room for years. The only one I liked was A Perfect Bride by Samantha James, so I will be reading more by her. |
