yeah johanna Lindsey's titles are pretty "oh boy, I really don't want to be seen reading this in public..." some of lisa kleypas's books aren't too bad and the covers have gotten a lot better. I would never read the ones with lady's legs or some fabio look alike on the cover...in public at least (even checking them out from the library is sometime embarrassing ) Smart Bitches, Trashy Books | Romance Novel Reviews | Come for the Dominican Bitches, Stay for the Man Titty

some of those original covers were unreal! I love looking through them either at the library or used bookstores so trashy!

I've read some Johanna Lindsay. I think No Choice but seduction was the last one I read.

I'm looking for a good romantic suspense/thriller. Any suggestions?

I actually have the original Gentle Rogue cover. I have a lot of original book covers - most of 'em from Goodwill. My hubby was like - "Oh no! Fabio! I know what kind of book this is!"

Hmmm, LostCandy, I really enjoyed Promise Him Anything by Carla Cassidy.

Quote:
She promised not to leave him. But some promises are made to be broken...

For a year, Juliette Monroe and her son have been on the run from her abusive ex-husband. But when he finally tracks them down, he must confront local cop Nick Corelli, who has vowed to keep Juliette and her son safe. And when sparks fly between Juliette and Nick, they know that first they must confront the madman threatening not only their blossoming love-but also their lives...

Lostcandy, I'd recommend anything by Julie Garwood in terms of her modern books. I know some fans of hers prefer her historical books but I also loved her modern books. They include Heartbreaker, Mercy, Killjoy, Murder List, Slow Burn, Shadow Dance, Fire and Ice and Sizzle. I haven't read Fire and Ice or Sizzle yet but the others are great books.

Quite awhile ago I read a Julie Garwood book, and even though I don't remember much about it, I know I liked it

Tina, that does look like an interesting read The plot sounds exciting!

Has anybody else finished Someone to Watch Over Me so we can start discussing?

I'm excited to re-read Lady Sophia's Lover after having read hte first book in the series. Lady Sophia's Lover stood alone just fine, but it'll be neat knowing some more backstory to the characters

I'm guility! I just started it a few days ago... I love it though and I'm hoping to spend the next few days reading it. I hope to be ready by the 5th.

I'm glad you find that book interesting, Gab! I quite like the romance scenes between the two main characters...

The deadline for our Book of the Month was Nov 5th.

Has everyone read it? Personally, for me, I would like an extra few days or so. I'm almost finished!

I tried reading Sizzle by Julie Garwood. I just couldn't get into it, and I've read Fire and Ice and the Murder List. I love those books. I'll try some of her older books that came out before Murder List.

I'll try your suggestion Tina. Thanks.

I love Lisa Kleypas. I have her new book, but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

A few extra days is fine with me too. I'm just on chapter ten now lol.

Lostcandy, you wouldn't recommend Sizzle then? And her older stuff before Murder List is great. They have connecting characters in them which I love.

I just read and downloaded The Matchmakers by Jennifer Colgan (it was a free Kindle book). It is a light, esay, short read. I enjoyed it. It's 256 pages so it can be read a in a few hours. I recommend it.

I finished Someone to Watch Over Me! It was a very good book! When everyone is done, there's a little quiz (5 questions at the most), and then we can discuss it. How does everyone think of that?
