How did you take such different job path? (If you don't mind telling.)

It was all luck and faith ...

I was in between jobs - the librarian were I worked became"ancient" and "stubborn" so our chemistry was gone after 9 years working together. So I quit that job on an impuls (still shocked about that one )
I did some work as waitress, that too is a calling, so couldn't keep that up and started looking for jobs online.

Stumbled upon the Red Cross website and I saw a free position to assist on mobile collections of blood - there was no history in being a nurse needed, just First Aid and motivation was enough.
So I applied for the job. A week later got a call from the CEO - after 15 minutes he rounded up the conversation, with the words "we'll contact you."
30 minutes after that call my current teamleader called for a more detailed chat.

I had to visit a collection to see how things went "on the floor" that same evening.
The day after that I had to call and let know if I would go through with it...

Within two weeks I applied for the job - had the call - said yes and signed a contract. After the signing they had to give me all sorts of courses and practice.

Meanwhile I started my 3rd year working for the Red Cross, received all necessary training (I am highest level of assistant) and I get to work both on the road (for blood only) and in transfusion centers (for both blood and plasma).

Wow, Mary, that sounds serendipitous. Too bad about the chemistry going away with the former boss. There has to be chemistry if you're going to work 8 hours a day with someone.

It really is needed to have a connection. I wasn't the only one who quit. Three in total who were fed up

There isn't a way to search for that stuff real quick other than going to every post on this thread or old threads individually. It can be time consuming.
