The Kate Daniels series consists of three books so far: Magic Bites. Magic Burns and Magic Strikes.
The fourth instalment is supposed to be released sometime next year.

1. Magic Bites

Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren’t for magic…

But when Kate’s guardian is murdered, she must choose to do nothing and remain safe or to pursue his preternatural killer. Hiding is easy, but the right choice is rarely easy…

2. Magic Burns

Down in Atlanta, tempers - and temperatures - are about to flare…

As a mercenary who cleans up after magic gone wrong, Kate Daniels has seen her share of occupational hazards. Normally, waves of paranormal energy ebb and flow across Atlanta like a tide. But once every seven years, a flare comes, a time when magic runs rampant. Now Kate’s going to have to deal with problems on a much bigger scale: a divine one.

When Kate sets out to retrieve a set of stolen maps for the Pack, Atlanta’s paramilitary clan of shapeshifters, she quickly realizes much more at stake. During a flare, gods and goddesses can manifest - and battle for power. The stolen maps are only the opening gambit in an epic tug-of-war between two gods hoping for rebirth. And if Kate can’t stop the cataclysmic showdown, the city may not survive…

3. Magic Strikes

But when Kate’s werewolf friend Derek is discovered nearly dead, she must confront her greatest challenge yet. As her investigation leads her to the Midnight Games - an invitation only, no holds barred, ultimate preternatural fighting tournament - she and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, uncover a dark plot that may forever alter the face of Atlanta’s shapeshifting community…

Thanks for the new thread.

Intersting tibit about book covers. Which I knew that most authors have little say in the covers. But I didn't realized that a cover can change because a big retailer doesn't like it.

People often ask how much input we have into covers. The answer is very little. Here is how the cover process goes: the editor discusses the book with the art department. The art department creates a cover, and then everyone from publicity to marketing gets to weigh in. To put things into perspective, if BN’s representative hates the cover – and by hate I mean doesn’t feel it would sell, not personally dislike – the cover will be changed. Several other major retailers wield a similar veto. Walmart, Target, etc.
The cover of BFM you see on the book was actually the cover number two. Today I am going to show you the original cover, which we loved with mad, mad love. Unfortunately, during a sales meeting one of the retailers vetoed it because they felt it was sending the wrong message to its customers. So here you go for a limited time only, the original cover to Burn For Me.

It just seems to me, this cover gives the impression of an urban fantasy, but the final cover, looks more like pnr, which they obviously went with..

We should probably create a new thread for this new series, right? So we can discuss that there, as it has no connection to Kate.

I was debating that or just make it one thread with all their works.

But I think i like separate threads.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward separate threads :nod: I feel like an Author thread has more impact if the author has many series, or/and they connect to one another.
