I think the fact they had a low budget may help in this case.. hopefully. But I doubt that would stop Stephenie from writing the sequels. So we're safe there. But having them turn into movies is up to the studio.

I don't think the movie not going the way they hoped won't stop SM either. She has already written the outlines and parts of the sequels, I think. If she loves what she wrote, I'm sure the loyal fans of this book will buy the sequels when they will come out. Let's not forget the book was already famous (maybe not as famous as TW, but SM fans knew it/read it). Unless someone judges a book by its movie adaptation, I don't think the written work may be affected too much.

That's true. I mean she is writing the second book now. I don't think she'll throw it out.

I wish she would finish it by the end of 2013. I'm sure with the movie being released, more people have discovered the book and she may feel more motivated to finish it. There are a lot of us who want to know how it continues! I hate cliffhangers.
