Emma had to go visit when Jane Fairfax received a piano from an unknown giver.
It was hoisted up to her aunts apartment.

Is that the scene where Knightley comes over and he was going to leave until he heard the Emma was inside?

I think that's the one.
Everyone had to hear Jane play the new piano.

Do you wish you lived in a time where people just sat around listening to each other play instruments instead of having internet as entertainment?

I love you're reading Jane Austen! I might join in at some point. What book is for March?

Oh, I haven't even thought about March. Anyone have suggestions?

You should totally join in for Feb.

We will be on Sense & Sensibility for awhile. Join in. It is our second Austen read.

Don't know if we will start a new one in March. We usually skip a month or two
to do other reading.

I have just under 6 hours left of S&S. I got up to the part where Marianne admitted she was never engaged to W. She saw him at the ball with the other woman

That was a good scene in the Thompson film, when Marianne confronts him.
Willoughby! Those people he met "in the country." Ewwwwww.

Poor Marianne. She's going to learn lots of lessons, though, and mature.

Robert F hasn't shown up yet and I am surprised.
he was really unattractive in the movie

I started listening today.

I got to the part when they move into the cottage. Chapter 7.

Edward was barely mentioned!

You listened to a lot today.

It's true. It's funny how in Austen novels, there isn't a lot of interaction between the romantic leads.

Do you feel like Lucy is meaner in the book?

Edward's brother was barely in the movie, but Lucy was funny.

Edward was like a footnote in that chapter. A lot of telling. The movie did a great job of showing an attraction.
