They are mostly within the UK/Aus, but not sure if they are as popular as they were.

I think Kobo is maybe more popular in Europe. I am from the Netherlands and this one (kobo aura 2) had the best reviews. But I'm sure that borrowing e-books pretty much works the same everywhere

Yeah in Canada we sell them I work at Indigo (book store), and we have our own Kobo table.

But I prefer my iPad for my books.
