Soz, I've had suet feeders stolen by so many squirrels. It really used to upset me when I was a kid. Not so much anymore. Whenever I see squirrels in the back yard I just let the dogs out. They don't catch them normally, but they scare them away. My mom's the one really interested in bird feeders though, she has a ton of them up right now, and she gets really angry and beats on the back window to scare them away. It's so funny because they completely ignore her and just keep eating the bird food and destroying our wooden bird feeders.

My Dad and Stepmom have a ton of bird feeders up. They said they don't get too many squirrels though, and the kids love to sit on the back porch and watch the birds eat.

I found some things that are kind of like staples, so I'm going to attach the suet feeder to my tree and see if I get any woodpeckers at the feeder. I've seen a few in the yard, but they leave quickly. And yeah, the squirrels ignore everything, unless I'm actually in the yard.I got a dome for my bird feeder and I'm going to try to install that over the weekend. If it doesn't rain all weekend, I hope to get some yard work done too because it really needs it. I think the neighborhood used our yard as a trash heap while the house was vacant.

I've been working on a curbside find bookcase this week. The rest of my hardcovers, plus my SF magazines and manga will all fit on it, so I've been trying to get it done. I have to take the whole thing apart, sand it down, repair one shelf where some little pieces broke off, glue it, paint it, and put it back together. So far, most of it is apart except for where one bolt rusted, I've sanded and painted a shelf and a side, and I've cut some small pieces of wood which I'm shaping to fit into the broken areas of the other shelf.

I'm really amazed that all of my trade paperbacks and hardcovers have a home on my shelves. Now I just need to do something with the four big plastic storage boxes full of paperbacks under the bed and find something better than plastic shelves for my romance books. It seems that six bookcases still aren't enough, even with the paperbacks double-stacked in my two largest ones.

It's been so long since I read for fun. I've been really busy with school and I have to do a paper next week on Dune so I'll be reading that this weekend, which will be fun but it's not for fun, it's for school.
I went to a Feist concert last night with a friend. I had a lot of fun. My school has this annual bike race called the Little 500 and it's supposedly the "Biggest College Weekend" anywhere. We have a huge number of musical acts that come into town but she was really the only one I wanted to see. I know there was a riot at the DMX show and I don't know what happened with some of the other ones.
I know how you feel about bookcases, Soz. I have three back home, two short and one tall. Not enough room.

Yeah, apparently he is. I really don't know much about the concert, but he was there. They got mad though because he only performed three or four songs because a noise violation shut down the concert early and that's why they rioted. So I'm kind of glad I didn't go personally.

She's doing wonderfully. Currently sleeping, hopefully long enough for me to eat some supper.

Ha, best of luck with that one. I know I never napped when I was a baby. I'm an insomniac now and I think I was when I was a baby. But, whenever my grandmother visited she wouldn't put me down so my mom at least got some rest then. I have a feeling God's going to pay me back for being a wild baby by giving me one of my own. But I have to raise a husband before I can raise a kid so I have some time to fortify myself.

My friend and I were talking about babies last night. Now that I have the spouse and a house, I think a baby (or adoption) won't be too far off, but first we have to get all of the DIY repairs done.

My mom always said I would have an awful baby because I screamed all the time, etc. I laughed at her when my daughter was born, she was perfect. She slept through the night early and was never demanding or fussy. I told her that she was wrong. Then my son was born......and my mother was finally proved right. I don't think I could handle a 3rd child if it will be anything like he was.
