When I was younger I had a bookmark with garfield on it. He was smushed flat and it said "I thought you would never open this up again." or something like that.

 that sounds cute :D I have to pick up a cute bookmark next time I go shopping

I have so many bookmarks! My favorites are Princess Leia, Susan Ivanova from Babylon 5, and this cute one I picked up at an animal show recently that has a picture of a llama on it and the tassle is llama wool. I also have several that authors had made to promote their books.

I used to have some pretty nice ones, but I tend to lose them. Now I just use index cards. They're cheap, and functional!

I do have an Aragorn bookmark, and a Thomas Kinkcaide one that I really like.

That sounds really cute. My sister is a big Garfield fan (she wants to marry him) and she has a huge collection of Garfield bookmarks, but I don't think she has that one. I'm going to tell her about it.

I use a few. Sometimes I use the Barnes and Noble reciept, or the library slip. I also have one that has unicorns. The one I use the most is purple and says "A good book is the best of friends, the same today and forever" Martin Farquhar Tupper 1810-1889. I don't remember where I got it and I don't know who Tupper is.

I have a Star Wars one somewhere that I used to use for my Star Wars novels.

I love the deck of cards idea and 52 books a year, but I can't read that fast. I would lose such a challenge.

I usually use this bookmark I bought from the art gallery which has a picture of old books sitting on a shelf. Sometimes I use bookmarks I made when I was younger. Sometimes I just use the reciept that comes with the book. :)

I used to make bookmarks, too! I use some of those. I also do the receipt thing.

I collect other people's bookmarks I've found in library books and books from used bookstores too. People use postcards a lot. And weird notes. One time I found someone's bank deposit receipt.

I told my sis about the Garfield bookmark. Now she's jealous and wants it. I'm evil.

I usually use one of the free postcards from Boomerang you can take from cinemas, McDonalds etc. as a bookmark. Or a random piece of paper.

I know what you mean. And some of them are just pieces of paper.
One time my sister was selling this woman these bookmarks that were 2 for $10 but the woman thought they were $10 a piece, and she was actually willing to pay that much for them! She was buying 4 of them!

Craziness.

I know many people who just use lottery tickets and grocery store receipts.

I like to keep an index card in there so I could write notes on them. :]

 wow I would never pay that much for a bookmark. If I really think a bookmark is cute I might pay $1.75 or whatever it is they cost but not that much  I wouldn't even give those as gifts since the person you are giving it to wouldn't know how much it cost and would think you were super cheap!

This one is hilarious! I love it.
