Book Logs and Writers' Journals
Is anyone else addicted to reading authors' journals? Do any of you keep an online book log?
Here's a list of writers on Live Journal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/archer904/24741.html I have a bunch of those authors on my friends list. And my book journal is located here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/sausconys_books/ if anyone would like to read it. __________________

Soz, thanks so much for the list of writers' LJs. I do read some every now and then, but I'm bad with keeping up with them. I also enjoy skimming through your book journal sometimes.
My book log basically consists of the titles and authors of all the new books I've read or attempted to read and a rating of the book. I used to write specific comments, but then I got lazy, especially during the school year. I've been meaning to transfer it to the computer for some time, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. __________________

No problem everybody. I've been trying to find a list like that for a while now because I wanted to start this thread, and the other night, I finally found it.
My book log used to just be a list of books and ratings too, but I got the idea for writing a book journal from a class I took in college. I found that journaling actually helped me understand books better and it also helped me remember them too. The problem I've noticed I have lately though is not knowing what to say when I love a book without gushing, so my reviews for books I don't like tend to be more long-winded. But then, if a book works for me, it just does and I don't have much to complain about. __________________

Hey Soz Your List of books is like mine.
I want to get mine in the computer I just haven't had the time. Plus At this moment it's just title author and a short (very short) comment about the book. I don't know if this counts but I like reading LJ's. Just reading about peoples everyday lives, What they are thinking and feeling. It makes me feel not so alone, because I know someone out there is going through the same thing. I've never read an authors LJ. But I'm gonna check out some from the list. |
