I know it kind of spread out a bit in Europe but mostly for partiers. Not for kids.

Actually it's not. It's an Irish holiday and celebrated a lot there for centuries. With Irish immigrants it also came to the US and became extremly popular there as well. And from the US it spread a bit over other countries in the world.

I think it became a popular for masses of poeple all over the world bc in the US they also made tons of halloween movies, books all the merchandise etc. So in the US it became what it is today. But it originated from Ireland.

I was speaking specifically of the hoopla as it exists today (consumerism) is very American. Naturally, it wasn't invented here. Many countries have their own versions of All Hollow's Eve.

Just t hat this year i'm not able to come back home, so I wont celebrate and being alone is no fun during those times
