There was always talk of another Scream. I guess this is why it didn't happen.

I can see someone trying to reboot the series eventually but it'll be years in the future.

Indeed. Scream was the first horror movie I ever watched and after that I got a pretty big horror movie collection over the years. From the time I saw Hayden in Heroes I always wanted her to be in a scream movie lol.
