I feel like it's too unknown. add Evan being a not too well liked charrie, it's not looking good for the prospect of a Jake fansite.

I think it would've been even worse had another actor played Evan. Jake really does give him layers, even when he's written as a sort of villain or whatever.

well, I don't know what another actor woudl have done with Evan, but I agree Jake manages pretty well for someone who "doesn't do" bad guys much.

I could see some other actor playing Evan as completely a jerk, even in the scenes where he's supposed to be more sincere... which we haven't had a lot of recently. All it would take is a different facial expression or tone of voice to turn Evan into a complete ass who has faked all of his nice moments.
 I love how Jake plays him. I think he's good at showing he's not necessarily a bad guy, but just a product of his environment. He comes off so differently when he's involved with/around different people. |

indeed. Evan clearly has other sides. it's just that with Frannie wrapped all around him he can't show them often.
