I thought Jim seemed hopeful too. I didn't think he'd break up with Karen right away but I definitely thought he was thinking that maybe, there was a chance.... I don't think he would have been as upset over Pam leaving with Roy or as icy in the break room scene when she tells him that she ended things with Roy once and for all, if he didn't have some kind of hope.

I guess I just can't see it as hopeful for that night. I never thought he thought anything could or would happen that night at the wedding. I do however think he considered the possibility of moving forward, or backward I guess, to what they had before Stamford/Karen.

Oh, I don't think he thought anything would happen that night; I think he was hopeful that maybe she did feel something for him but then she left with Roy and once again he thought he misread the signs and he put up the walls fully. His reaction just wasn't how someone who was fully over it or someone who didn't have some hope. But yeah, I didn't think he would breakup with Karen like that or anything, so I agree with that. We're not in total disagreement. lol
