I wonder, though, if he was just afraid to use his physical strength and/or didn't even realize he had it. It's a possible subtext / headcanon. In "Street Fighting Man" (7x14), he beats up someone a lot bigger than him at the Packers game for being a dillhole toward him and Red.

That's an interesting question and a good point... maybe he is secretly Hulk.
