 Classic Comics Sunday --- Those ’70s Comics: 530 Inspired by episode 503 - “What Is and What Should Never Be”  --- Comments: At their best, Jackie and Hyde work to understand each other’s differing points of view and grow from the experience. I wanted Hyde to give Jackie a chance to get to know him more intimately through their second first date. Going to a punk rock concert seemed like an apt choice. The Headaches is a band I made up. At the time I wrote and drew this comic, I couldn’t find a band with that name. Jackie understands this aspect of him (and has, I believe, since “Moon Over Point Place” [2x26]). __________________

Classic Comics Sunday --- Those ’70s Comics: 532 Inspired by episode 503 - “What Is and What Should Never Be”  --- Comments: I wanted to foreshadow Jackie’s eventual abandonment by her mother while also showing the parallel between how she and Hyde both downplay their homelife problems. Although they seem different on the surface, and their personalities certainly are different, Jackie and Hyde have a lot of similarities at their core, which is – I believe – one reason they’re so connected. --- Colleen, thank you!  __________________
