Real Kitty would have been able to help out in that situation.

Yeah, she would've known the answers to those questions and been able to test him as well as Jackie and Donna.

I would have liked to see Kitty quizzing them. She would have been a real help.

It would've been nice to see Kitty having answers Jackie and Donna don't -- because she probably would.

I would have loved to see that. I can see that happening.

Kitty's strengths should've been highlighted, not diminished.

I agree. Kitty was one of the best characters on the show, she deserved the best.

She really is one of the best characters on the show, and she DJR could've been given better material to work with ... although she did great with what was given. She's a fantastic comedic performer.

I loved how she cared for all of the kids like they were her own.

I love that, too. None of them were excluded although her patience for Kelso varied.

She was very patient with all of them. She was such a mother figure and some of them if not all of them really needed that.

That's true. The Formans' house was home base for all of Eric's friends for more than just Eric and relative freedom.

This makes me wonder how Kelso and Red's relationship could've been had the show given them more interaction. We know his unhappiness at Laurie and Kelso's relationship, but once that's through, Red's mostly generally annoyed at Kelso -- and admires his carefree spirit in "Sparks".

I think if Kelso had more self awareness and was less of a kettle head Red might have had more respect for him.

Like in "The Best Christmas Ever" when they play Pong together or when they reprogram Pong to be more challenging. That latter story was great. The fact Kelso knew the name for all the computer parts while Red called one a doohickey ... But it showed Kelso's tech knowledge, and that could've been a way for him and Red to bond.

And then Red could've tried to disabuse Kelso of the idea of being a self-entitled narcissist.

Kitty's Diary Entry: #14

Dear Diary,

Oh, the things you learn working in the psych ward at the hospital. We had a seminar yesterday on behavior modification, and I’ve gathered some very valuable information. The experts say that if you want someone to act in a certain way or do certain things, you should model that behavior so that the person can imitate you. Like if you want a child to say, "Please," and, "Thank you," you should say, "Please," and, "Thank you," to him. He’ll see you doing it and do it himself.

Or, as is the case in the psych ward, if you want a patient to blow his nose with a Kleenex and not on the curtains, you have to blow your nose with a Kleenex and not on the curtains and let him see you doing it. I decided to try this technique on Red. No, Red doesn’t have any problems with where to blow his nose, but I would like him to bring me flowers more often. Therefore, I decided to model the behavior of flower sending.

I sent Red a dozen long-stemmed roses with a card that said, "Red roses for the rosiest Red I know. Love, Kitty."

They came on a Saturday morning; and instead of being delighted, as I would have been, Red spent the day grumping. Why on earth I would send him flowers? What on earth had gotten into me? How much did they cost anyway? Wouldn’t that money been better spent on grass seed? (For someone holding beautiful long-stemmed roses, he was the one being awfully prickly.)

Well, after three hours of that, I finally just told him that I was trying to modify his behavior using a technique we use on the crazies at work. I even admitted that I hoped he would use some cute word play with my name in the card, just like I did.

Red said he didn’t appreciate being treated like a mental patient, and I thought that was the end of it. But yesterday, I received an arrangement of cattails, with a card that said, "Cattails for the Kittiest cat I know. Love, Red." Well, I think those psychiatrists know what they’re doing.
