 Kelso's Diary Entry: #13 Someone finally invents the Sony Walkman The most awesome invention ever just came out -- it's called a Sony Walkman! It’s a small tape player with earphones connected so that you can walk around and listen to music. It cost me two entire paychecks, but it was worth it. So far, I’ve made two cassettes, a Led Zeppelin tape and an ABBA tape. See, that’s another great thing about the Walkman: no one can make fun of you for listening to ABBA because they can’t hear it. ... Well, just as long as you don’t sing along to "Dancing Queen" at the top of your lungs. Even though you can walk around with it, the best thing about it for me is that I can finally listen to music while I’m driving around on patrol. I still can’t believe we don’t have radios in our cop cars. I mean, sure, we have the police radio, but that doesn’t play music. It’s always, "We’ve got a 420 in progress on Kenilworth and Main," or, "There’s a code 89 at the Mini-Mart."
