I find it hard to believe Penn would leave the theater after that line. He seems like he would find that funny not offensive.

Exactly. How in hell did he make it through life without hearing about that? There's no way. We all know his publicist googles him and searches him on twitter daily. That's what PR people do. She would have heard about it and she would have told Penn about it. And even if it wasn't his publicist, it was someone else. There's no way he'd be left in the dark about that
