Gossip Girl - Envy {N♥V} #56: Because she is his sunlight

Welcome To The 56th Nate & Vanessa Appreciation Thread!
This thread is dedicated to the pairing of Nate Archibald and Vanessa Abrams. If you are a fan of them, this is a place for you.

Nate Archibald grew up with his two best friends - the girl he has always loved,
Blair Waldorf, and Serena van der Woodsen. After Serena departs for boarding school
after their one-night-stand, Nate continues to date Blair. When Serena returns, however,
tensions are stirred up. Family-wise Nate soon learns that his dad is struggling with a
cocaine addiction and confronts his father about it, only to be violently attacked. Blair
watches from the window and later breaks up with him. He grills his best friend, Chuck
Bass, for information about Blair, and receives a false impression that Blair is dating
Carter Baizen, a sworn enemy of Nate. After going to Monaco with Chuck over winter
vacation, Nate returns and Blair gives him the cold shoulder. However, after he attempts
to save her from expulsion and gets suspended in the process, the two begin dating
again until he learns about the secret relationship between Blair and Chuck. Now the time
has come for Nate to spread his wings and explore the world outside the elite. Who
better to help him with that than V?

Vanessa Abrams. We've learned to know this outcast as Dan Humphrey's
ex-girlfriend and a good girl with a rather strange yet unique sense of style.
After hanging around Dan and Serena for a while, she has now made peace
with their relationship; and what's the better way to get over your ex than
go form a fairytale couple with Prince -Nate Archibald- Charming?

They danced. Her head lay on his chest as they swayed to the music and she marveled at how easy this seemed: effortless.
They began laughing as the speed picked up. His mood had been so somber when she found him outside.
He had become the boy she was more familiar with again, in the course of a few dances and one long walk.
He twirled her and she stepped on his foot, giggling the whole time. They arrived separately but left together.

“So what happens now?” Vanessa asks.
Nate reaches across the table and links his fingers with hers.
“I guess I go to the Hamptons with my mom for the summer,” he says, somewhat reluctantly.
“I mean, my dad’s an ass, but he’s right. She’s not good at taking care of herself.”
“Yeah, but who’s gonna take care of you?”
He rubs his thumb along the back of her hand. The thing is, Nate likes Vanessa so much.
He likes that there’s not years of painful shared history and cluster***** triangles and constant updates to
Gossip Girl or all the pressure of the UES when he’s with her. He likes that it’s fun and that because
he hasn’t known her his whole life, everything he learns about her is new and interesting.

Vanessa closed the café early and went straight home where she went to her room and slipped under the covers.
She simply wanted the world to disappear. She wanted to forget everything:
the letter, seeing Nate kiss Jenny and most of all she wanted to forget her feelings for Nate.
He always seems to deliver a crushing blow to her heart and every time she came crawling back for more.
It’s like she never seemed to learn her lesson when it came to guys. It started with Dan, but apparently being rejected
by her best friend wasn’t enough, she had to aim higher; aim richer. But, Nate was supposed to be different.
He made her feel so beautiful and sophisticated. She truly felt like everything was right in the world
“Ugh , stop being such a romantic,” she chastised herself.

Nate: Next time your sister's band is in town I want front row seats.
Vanessa: You don't strike me as a Lesbian Punk fan.
Nate: You know I am just offended by how much you underestimate me, Ms. Abrams.
Vanessa: You like punk?
Nate: Oh. I didn't hear you— You said "punk"? Because you had me at "lesbian".

Vanessa: Hey! Last night was strange, but very fun. Still, didn't we just say goodbye like 5 hours ago?
Nate: I'm taking you somewhere.
Vanessa: I'm going somewhere, to work.
Nate: Get someone to cover for you.
Vanessa: I can't just jump in the car with you because you decide to show up.
Nate: I'm not asking you to. This is a one time offer and there's a clock ticking.
Vanessa: But...fine. I am intrigued.

Nate: And here I thought I had your schedule memorized.
[B]Vanessa: I switched shifts and just got off. Although I don't mind the stalking...when are you gonna ask me on a real date?

Nate: Look I'm sorry I gotta go...
Vanessa: So I heard.
Nate: No, no, no, it's not what you think...it's just...what are you doing tonight?
Vanessa: *laughs* Me, Lincoln Hawk, a dirty van, and a lot of cables.
Nate: Can I meet you at the concert?
Vanessa: Can you be there at 7:30?
Nate: It's a date.
Vanessa: Finally!

Nate: Hey, V, it's me.
Vanessa: You're not calling to cancel are you? Because waiting 20 minutes before the concert maybe isn't the best way to let a girl down.
Nate:No, I'm calling to let you know that I may be 10 minutes late because, drumroll please, I'm actually gonna take the subway to the show.
Vanessa: Subway, huh? Nate Archibald, man of the people.

Nate to Vanessa: I'm so glad I called you. I really missed you this summer.

Nate to Vanessa: When you called today it just felt like I could breathe again. So. I want to do this. I want to make this — us — right.

Nate to Vanessa: I want to be with you.

Vanessa: So that's it? We can't even be friends?
Nate: We weren't really friends to begin with.

Nate: Hey, Vanessa...take care of yourself...alright?

Vanessa: I didn't want you to go, and though I hate to admit it, I still...
Nate: You still?
Vanessa: It's not important. There's the whole thing with Jenny, and I don't wanna get in the way--
Nate: Vanessa, I haven't heard from Jenny in weeks. So, if you'd like, we could get together some time.
Vanessa: I guess that would be okay.
Nate: Cool.
Vanessa: Call me.
Nate: I will.

Nate: How would you feel about going with me to the Snowflake ball?

Nate: You look beautiful.
Vanessa: Thank you.

Nate: You said that you've never felt this way about anyone before. Is that true?
Vanessa: Does it matter?
Nate: Look, when you walked away tonight, all I could think was "she's the one I wanna be with" So yeah, it matters.

Nate: You wanna grab a drink?
Vanessa: Yes, I would. Somewhere dark with no backlighting.
Nate: Well, maybe a little backlighting.

Nice title! Well I am not going to be here much for awhile. I am not leaving this ship ever but i am just mad at Josh and this show in general. He is a bad writer. No wonder the OC tanked.
