I feel as if it would be in character for Cindy to want to do something for Val, because Brenda had been quite independent and even left home for a little while.

I think in the absence of Brenda, Cindy wanted to a) keep busy and b) keep the place feeling like home. Meaning she would do things for Val that would entice her to feel safe there.

Right. Val does not strike me as a girl who would want pink walls in her room. She must have been thinking "Wow, great. :eyeroll:"

early season 5 Val would have been disgusted whereas I feel season 6 Val would have grown used to it.

I still can't believe that they remove Cindy/Jim in the same season that Val joins. There is a notable difference in how Val reacts when she's around Cindy; she can be mean to others but Cindy is a good influence on her and I hate that she's removed so soon after being such a warm person for Val to rely on.

Somebody without a mother to rely on gains a mother to rely on then loses her just months after. Seems very unfair.

Remember when Steve encouraged everyone to graffiti the house in that episode?

It was nice to see Val look increasingly tired of all the stupid behavior. She wanted the house to remain in the family. Brandon may have been called a goody-two-shoes but deep down, they knew he was right to be annoyed. Nat said it best: "it's a disgrace."

Luckily, by the time Val and David are dating, Casa Walsh is a perfectly clean place again.
