They played those scenes so well. David's concern was stronger than I'd ever seen it for anyone, and Val looked more vulnerable than I'd ever seen her.

I did not really understand everyone else ganging up against her. Especially Brandon and Steve. Even the title of the episode, The Girl Who Cried Wolf, was so unfair. Val did shady things in the past, ok, but she never accused anyone of the rape before (although we knew from the S7 her father raped her for years), especially not falsely. False rape accusations are insanely rare. Sadly, people reacted very typically.

I just actually watched these episodes recently. I loved how protective David was of her. He had her back.

Perhaps that was an ironic title. Like you said, it's brazenly harsh and I think a way of pointing out to people that the woman was generally considered to be an exaggerator of violence in those days.

Those type of moments are what make them more real to me than some of the other couples. They feel like added moments from Brian and Tiff who shared real affection for each other off camera and wanted to reflect that on screen.

Val always seemed more openly vulnerable with him, and I do believe it reflected Tiffani's familiarity with Brian.
