I guess they both had a lot of freedom and privileges on the show too, given that they got to direct the episodes and none of them is exactly qualified for that

Jason's definitely a qualified director now. I don't know how qualified he was when the show was on, but I thought his work was fine back then.

I think his first directing experience was on the show. She Came in through the Bathroom Window was the first episode he directed.
