We don't know yet if he will be connected to 'our' Walshes, but he is technically still a Walsh.

Get this: It's now confirmed that Caleb is NOT going to be related to any of our Walshes. They just wanted an Irish last name and that was the first one that came to mind.

I can't say I'm surprised, this spin-off is pure crap when it comes to "honor" the original show...always have, always will! And honestly...

True, you don't even have to have watched a single episode to know that "Walsh" might mean something. What about the actors who were big fans of the show, like Shanae? She must've read the script and had a thought or two. Guess it wasn't worth mentioning, lol. Or there's just a severe shortage of Irish names in the world.

I must be over-thinking everything all the time, according to this logic.

Like we had that psychotic Emily character last year, whom I assumed for sure was the namesake of Emily Valentine. This year, we have Vanessa, who's a scheming Valerie of sorts, but I guess both names starting with 'V' mean absolutely nothing.

I think it's safe to say you were overthinking stuff because you gave the writers too much credit

I would bet a limb they have no the slightest idea of who Emily Valentine or Valerie Malone are, nor they would even bother to research.

For the record, I don't really have any rage for this. I'm just absolutely stunned beyond my wildest cynical dreams. I don't even dislike the Liam/Silver coupling. More power to 'em ... I just want SOME couple to have the power! That's the biggest problem this show has - no time-honored commitment to friendships or romances. The couples that have risen to the top in the fandom I'm convinced did so by sheer virtue of there being somewhat more episodes in which they existed, making it easier to remember that they exist, LOL. You can't ship something you can barely remember happened. So, I'm talking about Navid/Adrianna, Liam/Annie, and Dixon/Silver (majorly pushed in the beginning). Naomi/Max ... I think that's becoming her 'biggest' relationship, but she's all over the place.

ANYWAY ... Turns out this is more evidently the case than I thought, because even the actors are coming out with the same opinion. This little Q&A segment with the actor who plays Liam is brought over from Ent. Weekly (and I've taken out anything spoilery):

^ We never got interviews like this for the original. Instead, it was WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE SOLID COUPLES NEXT? I've been waiting for _xx_ years of my life and I'm afraid my heart will explode.

Oh, and regarding that last tweet, lol, I also wanted to say, "Really?" She knows 7 people with the last name Walsh? I don't even know 7 people with the first name Jennifer, which is like the most common name I think in the U.S. I think I might have known someone who knew someone who knew someone with the last name Walsh - once - but I can't remember. It is a common Irish last name, but they couldn't take a hot minute to rethink and go with O'Sullivan, O'Brien, O'Connor, or O'Reilly?
