:eyebrows: They definitely planned on it, but I, too, think Kelly would have stopped it. The interesting question is 'why?' ... not that we haven't discussed this :lol:, but maybe Jaclyn has some new thoughts, or opinion. There's also the path of them in fact sleeping together and then having quite a bit to deal with in the wake of it.

Kelly would be far more punishing of herself had they slept together that night. I think it helped that when they did sleep together, everything was out in the open. Thus, she didn't feel like she was hiding something.

That's definitely one thing. I think her self-perception was fragile enough at the time that she'd have had her end-of-S3 meltdown early, this time brought on by a more general sense of mistrust rather than the "threat" of unconditional love.

Spring Break? We don't have one. We only have two seasons here, Summer and Rainy. Summer is April-May but for me, work officially ends on April 15 and begins May 19. :eek:

The Kelly of S1 would have had no problem going after Dylan but after so many struggles to redeem herself in her own eyes, I really don't think Kelly would have slept with Dylan that night. Granted, she was overwhelmingly tempted to, I think she would have still tried her best not to. And, in the event that she did, she would definitely run away from him even more. Let's face it, as much as she did keep the Dylan thing from Brenda for a while, she really did value Brenda's opinion in S3. To me, Brenda, for her, was one "good" thing in her life. She was one of the people instrumental in making Kelly realize her own failings. But, it was definitely Dylan who really opened her up more and made her see that she didn't really need to change because who she was before wasn't a bad person but someone just hiding inside herself. :P

The thing with DK... they're just connected. :lol: It's like they couldn't help themselves. They were always ending up together even if they, in their opinions at least, were wrong to do so. They had this thing between them that I'm pretty sure they themselves could never understand and explain until the very end. I guess by the finale, they were just resigned to the fact that they could never love anyone else the way they did each other. :D

:nod: It represented a major setback for her IF it turned out to be casual and meaningless. But it wasn't. Thus, the problem. ;) He brought out all her desire for something real, finally.

Kelly has wanted something so real for such a long time and it probably killed her that it had to be with the bf of her best friend.

Oh, I'm so over that part. :lol: I don't care about her 'eternal sins' anymore. I just think it killed her cause it was happening. :P He was asking her to give him every part of her. She hadn't even come into her own right for herself yet.

I guess in the end it's a good thing that they didn't sleep together in that episode. It might have messed things up for their future relationship if she had been feeling guilty about going behind Brenda's back. As to whether it would have happened if Brenda hadn't showed up...maybe not. If Kelly was aware enough not to do it in "High Life", she most likely would have been at this point, too.

Lotta conflict in between those points, too. But even outside the planetarium, she asked him to "take it slow". ... That scene killed me. Forget the setting (apparently inspired by "Rebel Without A Cause", the movie?), it was just an emotionally naked scene.
